Design service

We offer a number of garden and landscape services, from consultation, design and planning to plant-sourcing, planting and project management. Our work ranges in scale from small domestic gardens to large-scale planning of community centres, county offices and schools. We have long-standing relationships with several architectural practices and we stay in touch with many of our clients over the years, helping them to manage their gardens as they evolve.

We also provide landscape drawings, planting schedules and reports to be submitted to local or national planning authorities regarding planning permissions. We have experience - and positive results - with diffficult applications such as those which end up with An Bord Pleanala.

We produce a range of drawings for clients. The early drawings work towards a concept layout. Subsequent drawings include planting plans and hard landscape elements. We produce a number of different types of drawings, including plans, elevations and 3D realisations, depending on the clients' requirements and the scale of the job.

We also manage and run most of our projects and have a very 'hands-on' approach. We love plants, love our work and want everything we're responsible for to be specially attractive. This means we source and supervise the contractors, manage the budget and take care that everything is done the way we like it. We normally carry out all the plant supply and planting ourselves.

There is no set formula for the garden design process, but generally most jobs run something like this:

  • Meet the client and get an understanding of what they are looking for.
  • Submit a price for our design input, specifying what we will do for that amount. We normally specify a set price for our input but occasionally price on an hourly rate where only a few hours are required.
  • Start by producing some 'concept' drawings (ie not too detailed), and when these are agreed upon, working on them in more detail.
  • Find contractors, establish budgets and manage people who do the work. We like to be on site and to amend as we go along - this is how you end up with the nicest result!
  • Supervise or carry out planting and other details, including establishing a suitable maintenance regime.

Whether you want a one-off garden consulation to get advice on planting and layout, require drawings and notes for planning permission or require a comprehensive garden re-design, please feel free to get in touch with us. Contact details.....
