Bare root Box plants (Buxus) are the best value and easiest way to plant a box hedge. Box is the classic formal hedge, used for paths, flower beds or in formal gardens. These bare-root plants are up to half the price of box plants in containers at other times of the year. They are fast and easy to plant. Use 4 to 5 plants per metre to form a hedge, or 6 plants per metre in 2 staggered rows to form a wider hedge. Plant into well-dug, fertile soil, and mulch with bark or manure to keep the roots moist and the soil protected. Clip twice annually (mid summer and autumn) if you like things very tidy. Clip once (late summer) if you prefer a looser look. We also stock 'TopBuxus' Health Mix, specifically developed to prevent box blight and feed box plants as well as other items for box plants (See more on buxus / box plants...)
