Large & rural gardens

Gardens in the countryside can cover many acres, and we have created several of these, specialising in a natural, comfortable and informal approach. Materials are local, planting is in keeping with the environment and the merging of the house within its site is key to success.

Large gaden in Belfast

Large garden in Belfast

The large garden (c 8 acres) surrounding a house on the outskirts of Belfast. Planting and garden management over a period of approximately 4 years.

Glencullen House and Garden

Ireland's largest certified passive house, sitting on a couple of acres in an elevated, south-facing site in the Dublin mountains. The house nestles in rolling grassland, bordered by wild flowers. Trees and shrubs throughout the garden are native, so that the garden will blend seamlessly with the surrounding environment. Architecture by Fitzpatrick and Mays.

Very large house, Co Wicklow

Planting around a very imposing house in Co Wicklow. When we first saw this house it was sitting in a sea of grey gravel. We introduced a huge elipse of planting, including very choice trees and shrubs and innumerable perennials and bulbs. New gravel of Wicklow riverbed gravel is both soft and timeless.

Wicklow garden, flowers

Our own garden in Wicklow: relaxed perennials and grasses, elegant curves, and a seamless blending of inside and outside.
