This garden was carried out while the house was extensively remodelled by Fitzpatrick and Mays architects. In the front, our aim was to buck the trend by having no front lawn, but instead to make a series of dramatic curves using a vibrant mix of flowers, trees and shrubs which thrive in seaside conditions. In the back garden, which is over sixty meters long, the design was in respose to the striking modern lines of the rear façade. Compartments of box, yew and hornbeam create different 'rooms' in the garden, whilst also allowing plenty of space for childrens' play and vegetable gardening. A geothermalpipe system meant taht the entire becak garden needed to be excavated prior to us installing the garden. As with most of our work, the garden is high on plants and greenery and low on hard landscping elements. Each section, created with divisions of plants, has an entirely different character.

The front garden, only metres from the sea, has a vibrant mix of perennials and seaside shrubs.

An area at the far end of the garden is a quiet, flower-filled area surrounded by flowering trees and shrubs - perfect for getting away from it all
