House with two gardens

The owner of this 1970s property in Stillorgan, Co Dublin was modernising the house and decided that it was also time to radically overhaul the garden. The detached house has garden on all sides and had some mature trees including a cedar, some yews and a couple of mature fruit trees. There was also a pond. We radically altered the garden, but kept the mature trees, pond and one apple tree, creating a tranquil woodland garden around the bedroom end of gthe house and a much sunnier, brighter garden around the kitchen and entrance. The result is two very distinct gardens, joined by a lush green corridor along the side. It makes a well-loved and well-used refuge which nestles the house very snugly into its private suburban setting.

Front area / entrance path

The front of the house is entered through a limestone pathway flanked with lush and dramatic perennial plants. The owner particularly wanted flowers which are good for arranging indoors.
