The Loquat is an unusual evergreen tree, with large evergreen leaves and a relatively compact size - much prized as an 'architectural plant'. Well suited to urban or suburban gardens where compact size, and large, evergreen leaves are desirable. If planted in a warm, sheltered spot (such as against a south facing wall), it can produce exotic scented flowers in autumn, followed by edible fruits (Loquat) in April or May. These fruits are popular throughout southern Europe and many parts of West Coast America and Asia. Best in mild areas, in a warm sheltered spot if you want fruit. Plants are 'standard' size,  approx 150-170cms tall, clear stem, in a 18L container.
